Trio Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The three finalists have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were unveiled on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.
The show will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being nominated for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
