The Red Devils Set to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific German striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move away from Bayern Munich.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her deal, has been a prolific goal-getter for both club and country. Having scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing is viewed as a marquee coup for the WSL side.
Departure from Munich has been anticipated after she was seen fighting back tears while applauding the German club’s supporters following a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading forwards. According to reports, the formalities for the transfer are now finalised.
Reliable Goal Threat to Boost the Attack
The experienced striker's signing is expected to provide a significant boost to United’s attacking options. She has been remarkably consistent with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.
