The British player reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slam events in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from the last two tournaments of the year due to a health issue she has been fighting in recent days.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but chose to travel back to recover prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

Her upcoming training will include her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together again next season.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the third set versus Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig joined her in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
