Netflix Chooses Ideal Star for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced Tuesday that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Mr. 2. Bon Clay can use their power to transform into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a interpretation of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action show, as in the original manga and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins several other new cast members set to bring the group to the screen, featuring chief Mr. 0, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Even though this character is a important part of Baroque Works, the character won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. With the next season set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a major departure in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could suggest additional alterations to the plot development.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10, 2026.
