Democrats Disclose Newest Set of Jeffrey Epstein Photos as Justice Department Deadline Looms

The House Oversight Committee has made public a batch of around 70 images secured from the holdings of former adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This constitutes the third disclosure from a tranche of more than 95,000 photos the panel has obtained from Epstein's holdings. It contains images of passages from the book Lolita written across a woman's body, and obscured pictures of women's overseas passports.

This disclosure arrives mere hours before the 19 December due date for the DOJ to disclose all documents associated with its inquiry into Epstein.

"These latest photos raise more inquiries about exactly what the DOJ has in its holdings," remarked the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What's in the Images Disclosed

Several of the photographs published on Thursday show Epstein conversing with academic and activist Noam Chomsky aboard a private plane; Bill Gates positioned alongside a individual whose identity is censored; Steve Bannon seated at a desk facing Epstein, and ex- Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.

These are the newest affluent, powerful individuals to be pictured in Epstein's estate images released by the oversight panel - formerly disclosed pictures also include US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, previous US treasury secretary Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Being pictured in the photos is not proof of any illegal activity, and a number of the photographed individuals have said they were never participating in Epstein's criminal activity.

In a press release accompanying the image publication, Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein estate did not offer explanatory details or dates for the images.

"Photographs were picked to provide the public with openness into a typical cross-section of the images obtained from the holdings, and to offer understanding into Epstein's associates and his extremely alarming actions," the announcement reads.

The publication also includes several photos of passages from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita penned in dark ink across various areas of a woman's body, like her torso, lower extremity, pelvis, and spine. Lolita recounts the account of a young girl who was groomed by a middle-aged literature professor.

One quote from the book written across a female's upper body says, "Lo-lee-ta: the end of the tongue traveling of three steps down the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".

The release also contains a collection of images of female passports and ID papers from nations worldwide, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the details on the papers, such as names and DOBs, is censored but the House Oversight Committee indicated in a press release that the passports pertain to "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his associates were involved with".

An additional image features Epstein positioned at a desk intimately surrounded by three individuals whose identities have been censored - a first has her hand on Epstein's torso under his clothing, and another is bending to view a nearby computer. Epstein appears to be helping the third individual fasten a bracelet.

Another photo disclosed is a screenshot of digital messages from an unknown person who claims they have been sent "some girls" and are demanding "$1000 per girl".

Image Release Arrives Prior to DOJ Cut-off

The body has thousands of images in its holdings from the Epstein property, which are "simultaneously disturbing and everyday," its statement on this week explained.

The Congressional committee first issued a subpoena to the property of Epstein, who passed away in a New York prison in 2019 while facing trial on allegations of sex trafficking crimes, in August.

The photos and files the Epstein estate's representatives submitted to the body are different than what is commonly termed "the Epstein documents". Those are records within the Department of Justice's possession associated with its separate inquiry into Epstein.

In accordance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which Donald Trump made law recently, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to disclose its documents. The full nature of what's included in the DOJ's documents is unknown, and it's probable that much of the material will be heavily censored, comparable to House Oversight Committee releases
