Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
